As the wife of a military veteran, Sarah knows how vital it is to have the right family plan in place. Sarah has centered her firm on helping families plan for life’s unexpected circumstances because she understands the importance of having someone to turn to for guidance and support.
Family
Sarah is passionate about spending time with her husband and their three children, Victoria, Elizabeth, and Ezekiel. She is also a creative choreographer and dance instructor for local community events enjoys taking part in a variety of speaking engagements and is a strong voice in the community.
Background
Sarah’s diverse background helps her understand the differing circumstances, backgrounds and lifestyles of her clients. After graduating from Shepherd High School, she attended Alma College where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Business Administration and Dance and Theater. While attending Alma College, she also worked part-time at MidMichigan Medical Center—Gratiot, and after she graduated, she was hired on full time in the Human Resources Department. After spending three years in Human Resources, Sarah decided it was time to reach for her dream and go to law school.
Educated
At Thomas M. Cooley Law School Sarah excelled. She was the Managing Editor of the Law Review, a Teacher’s Assistant in the 60+ Estate Planning Clinic, a Research Assistant (where she helped to write two Constitutional Law textbooks), and graduated in the top 10% of her class. Sarah also worked full-time while attending law school as an Investment Advisor and Office Manager for a financial planning firm in East Lansing. She held both a series 7 and 66 license.
Achievements
Sarah is an Adjunct Professor at Cooley Law School; teaching Law Office Management and she continues to coach entrepreneurs who want to build their own business and find their path. She is a frequent speaker for the Institute for Continuing Legal Education in Michigan and WealthCounsel. She serves on the Board of Trustee’s for Gratiot and Isabella County United Way, Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan, Mid-Michigan College Foundation, and 60+ Elder Law Clinic.
The American Bar Association Young Lawyers Association has recognized Sarah as 2019 Lawyers on the Rise honoree. She was also honored by being included in the Michigan Women in Law class of 2017, Michigan Top 40 under 40 and Super Lawyers – Rising Star 2017-2023.
